Silence creeps

Oops! The image below was a previous version. I edited out the light in the final print version, pictured in this post. Better? I think I liked the tension created in the former version, but the latest seems more balanced overall.

And thanks for all the feedback!

  1. I think I may like the former image slightly better. It's nothing too serious, but the light and the tint in the first posted really helped my experience when viewing, as well as the tension you mentioned. Either way, it's well done, hope to see more ( and in person too)

  2. yeah...after looking at them both online, i wonder if i don't agree. however, there's that whole issue of computer screens vs paper and profiles, etc. i think i adjusted the color to correct for a better print. still kind of torn about the light. i sort of miss it when held next to the original. but, don't necessarily notice in final print.

will post more soon. hate to hog the space! :)

  3. I really love the blue in this, and im really into the photograph in general, I think i agree with gabby i like the light in there, it gives it a more realistic believable feeling, without the light i am a little confused as to where the light is coming from, it is kind of alien-ish without it. But anyway, I would love to see more from this series, i think you work with light beautifully at night, and i love the saturation that you can get working that way. Also the simple subject matter, a fence, a shed, and branches are something i have really been attracted to. These days i dont like a whole lot of motion going on in images. Ive been drawn to more graphic and "still" things, kind of like Koichiro Kurita's work in his Trace series.

  4. I like how the wall thats next to all the light is slightly darker in this one, bringing more of a pop to that brightness. its also pretty interesting to have the brightest white in the background, and have it stand in the BACKground. It almost feels like some kind of ufo takeover, which is probably along the lines of what you were going for. Creepy, dark, mysterious. OH and the poles falling out of focus just a slight amount to the bottom!! Love it.
