  1. this is lovely. I want to see more, is the the only shot you have. I love how he is looking over you. The way the early morning light is pouring into the cockpit is nice as well. I only want to see more of his face, maybe try and bring out more detail in his face in photoshop pr something, but other then that this photo rocks! I really like the little plane on the diagram, its sweet.

  2. questions:
how? i thought this was not legal???
is this the beginning of a project or just a lovely image?
are there more? will there be more?
    what's the inspiration?

  3. the expression is grand. he seems nervous and yet the complementary background leaves the viewer in ease, oddly enough. planes have taken on new symbols in our culture compared to the excitement and adventure it once offered in the past. mentioned within the other comments, where is this going? more access to planes? it could be a really nice piece to begin. i would like to see you step back too, let us see more! great start!
(also, look at Brian Finke's Flight Attendants http://www.clampart.com/artists/artist3/artist3.htm)

  5. Thanks guys, and yeah i didn't know if it was legal either, but i went home to Delaware and on my flight back to Maine i just went up to the co pilot and asked if i could photograph him, and the pilot came up and was like yeah sure no problem, what do you want us to do?I was really surprised and nervous haha. I have more shots of the front of the plane and of the pilot, but his eyes look kind of weird and i want to rephotograph him. I got both of their emails and plan on rephotographing the pilot for sure. I also want to see if i could photograph more of the staff like the flight attendants the baggage people and the people that direct the planes, my thesis is not only about airports, but about occupations. Ranging from blue collar to white collar, i am interested in what people do for a living; the quote "live to work or work to live" prompted me to go in this direction, i hope to find out from spending just a short amount of time with these people to photograph them at their job, or something they love to do. The state that our country is in is forcing people to take jobs that they hate to just get by and make money, i want to find out how many people are doing this and how many people are doing what they love, and how many people are just biting the bullet every day. I am doing short 1-3 min interviews with people as well, hearing their story of how they got to where they are, short stories that describe their personality, or where they hope to be. thanks for the input guys i miss being critiqued by all of you, you always help so much, im going to post more from this shoot and other photos tonight, and yes ive seen flight attendants i lovveeee it.... i want to be a flight attendant haha. (sorry this is so long)
