  2. I love these portraits, the moments you are capturing are interesting because they feel like in-be-tweens. Right now I feel like post modern photography is seeing a lot of portraiture and sometimes it starts to get boring. As photographers we have to reinvent ourselves and you really do have to put a "brand" to your image. The images you are taking here are different then what the "norm" of portraiture has become. But, don't let your head get too big. I love the black in white, I love the contrast, but, what I want to see is some difference in age. find older people, find young children. I want to see an array of walks of life. great start, at some point you will have to choose between color and black and white. i'm rooting for the black and white.

  3. always with the light, girl! you really see it and this level of interaction that most of us don't.

that being said, i'm initally drawn to the close up ones, but i think that's because i can see the faces better. i suspect seeing all of the images bigger would resolve that.

also, i'm with nizbo...lots of portraiture happening right now. these feel much less staged or angst-ridden than a lot that i've seen. i'm especially drawn to the 4th one - that side-was glance. do you have any text to go with the images? can't wait to see more!!!

  4. Thanks guys, im not working on really anything else because this is the focus of my final project. The reason why i dont have an array of ages is because im branching out from people that i spend time with and friends of friends and aquaintances. I'm photographing the people that i have the most access to and people that i spend time with. I'm drawn to other people that are in my age group that are trying to figure out what they are doing with their lives and also to get a feel for who i surround myself with here in portland. I dont really know any children here or old people either so that kind of rules that one out, im staying between the 20-35 year olds. I'm rooting for the black and white as well, i love being back in the darkroom and 4x5 black and white negatives as well. ill put more up really soon im glad to see some new stuff on this blog :)
